Spirit of Adventure Magaliesburg is situated at the base of the Magaliesburg mountain range, on the farm Olifantspoort, in an area rich with ecological, geographical and historical study material. School Camp Field Trips.

Author of the book “The Magaliesburg”, Vincent Carruthers describes the area as such: “The Magaliesberg mountain range is a microcosm of the magnificence of nature and the turbulent history of South Africa. Its present tranquillity belies the drama of its geological formation. The geology of the range created different habitats that support a variety of wildlife that is exceptional both in its abundance and in its diversity of species.”

Olifantspoort Farm specialises in beef cattle rearing on a natural grazing basis and has only small areas dedicated to monocultures. A river system winds its way naturally through the farm and feeds into the Olifantsnek dam from the Boons catchment area.

The farm offers interesting opportunities to study human as well as livestock impact on the natural bush ecology and lends itself to any number of ecological and geographical investigations. School Camp Field Trips.

Spirit of Adventure would like to offer you the opportunity to bring your learners out to our camp for a field trip. Teachers may make use of the surrounding bushveld area to run their own investigations with the learners and we will provide accommodation, meals and staff to take you around the farm. School Camp Field Trips.
